Loft 40% Off Friends & Family Sale!
Let’s start the week on a high note because….LOFT is having a 40% off site-wide ‘Friends & Family’ SALE! And y’all, their new spring pieces are SO. CUTE. Not to mention, when everything is nearly half off, that is reason enough to add some seasonal updates to your wardrobe! I am always so thrilled to partner with LOFT because I adore their clothing and brand aesthetic, but today is extra special because I grabbed one of my very best friends, Veronica, (who is also a petite section shopper – she’s 4’11, so all my petite readers, take note of her look! 😉 ) and we had ourselves a galpal date over the weekend to share a few of our favorite pieces from the sale. The best part? Both of our outfits come in regular and petite sizes. Yep…the good news just keeps getting better.

A big thank you to LOFT for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own.

Hope your weekend is off to a wonderful start! I’m excited to share a few of my favorite spring pieces in today’s post – and in particular, those GORG shoes! Ohh how I swooned when I first put them on…lace-up, a higher heel (hello, longer legs!), peep-toe…these are magical shoes that make you feel extra confident and fabulous. Not to mention, they’re casual yet statement-worthy enough to rock to the cutest, low-key brunch/coffee spot in town – Hillside Farmacy. (…I mean really, how cute is their patio?!).
A question I receive often from readers and new bloggers is: how do you build your brand? It’s a question that comes with a loaded response (…and time, of course), but I feel there are a few key components that are the building blocks to creating a brand that speaks to a sense of style, written voice, and photo aesthetic that is authentic to you.
Simple, classic and chic – I think this might be one of my all-time favorite outfits. Stripes, pointed toe flats, the prettiest bucket bag…it’s the recipe for a timeless look you can wear again and again. Swap the denim skirt for high waist skinny jeans and add a belt, or get workwear ready with an adorable pair of black or camel dress pants. I am a big fan of getting more bang for your buck (always!), so investing in items you’ll get wear out of for years to come is a big “do” in my book.
Happy Monday, gals! How was your weekend? Blake and I ordered takeout and watched Heavyweights (remember that awesome Ben Stiller film from the 90s?) – Blake hadn’t ever seen it! I was like, “where was your childhood?!” 😉 It was a classic in the Watson household growing up. Aside from that, we kept busy doing some spring cleaning and spending time with family…it was a nice, relaxing few days!
Aaaand months later (we visited in late September/early October), I am finally sharing the ins and outs of our honeymoon to Athens and Santorini, Greece! Not going to lie, editing these images brought back all the “feels” and I definitely called Blake over to my office area more than once to look at photos and reminisce with me. I still stand by that it was my favorite vacation ever…for one, Santorini was such a relaxing and romantic place – and Athens was so rich with incredible history that I was pretty much in awe for three days straight…and two, given that Blake and I are both workaholics, it was seriously SO incredible to disconnect and just be present and explore with each other for 12 days straight. We make a great team and he’s my very favorite travel partner! (…Our shared love for drinking coffee and beer in new places = a match made in heaven, ha!). From the scenery to the Greek food (omg heaven!), to spending days on end with my darling, it was pure magic and a trip I’ll forever fondly remember.
Y’all know me, I can’t so no to stripes! Truly…it’s my very favorite print – so happy, yet classic and timeless. With spring in full bloom here in Austin, the warmer weather has me reaching for breezy dresses and light layers. This darling dress will be a closet staple year round (pair with espadrille sandals and a cute straw hat for summer) and I am especially loving it with OTK boots (…psst..if you don’t yet have a tan, OTK boots make for an excellent pairing with dresses, ha!) …and of course layered with my favorite utility jacket.
Professionally speaking, what’s your biggest fear? We all have that one thing that gives us major butterflies, sweaty palms and perhaps even makes us feel a little queasy. For me, it’s without a doubt public speaking. If you knew me 10 years ago, I was acting in every high school play and happily strolling up to the front of the class to speak to the room. These days, I find myself content to hide behind my computer screen. So, where did my outgoing self go? Between leaving the stage behind (now I much prefer to be in the audience) and working under a terrifying boss that scared me silly to speak up during my first job out of college (…story for another day…), I can pinpoint the source of the fear, but that doesn’t make it any easier to build myself back up and overcome it. However, when
Hello gals, how’s your weekend going? Life has been kind of crazy in my world recently, I can’t wait to share what we’ve been up to…I’ll be spilling all the details in mid-April, so stay tuned!! That said, my schedule has been pretty insane with some added stress thrust our way over the past week and a half (fear not! It’s great news, just a LOT to do in the next month in preparation!) – thus, I want to apologize for my delay in getting those Weekly Chats up and sharing more spring content! Just when I felt like I was finally getting into a rhythm/routine with my blog schedule, the universe had another plan in store! Felt I should let y’all know in case you’ve noticed a lag in my post time.
