5 Ways To Wear: White Jeans
Anyone else a fan of re-wearing items in your wardrobe over and over? (…and over…and over…umm me!). I was raised to treat my clothing with kindness so that it lasts a long time – being the baby of five kiddos meant we all went back to school shopping once throughout the year and that those clothes needed to last. I am thankful to my parents for teaching me to respect and care for my things…it makes me appreciate the wardrobe staples I purchase, and also encourages me to use the same piece and style it a ton of different ways.
One thing I see in the blogging world is the tendency to wear an outfit just once for a photo, then never again. The truth is, I have absolutely done this (…Blake and I are total homebodies, so if you see me wearing a dress it’s likely I snapped the photo to share the styling aspect, but put on jeans and a tee asap when I got home, ha!), but in reality most people rewear the same items of clothing all. the. time – and that is NORMAL! Thus, I have embraced that I rewear the same pieces over and over and I am excited to start a new series where I’ll share how I styled a certain item five different ways. Today’s topic: white skinny jeans! …and yes, you can definitely rock these after Labor Day.
The color combination that always has me swooning: camel (#1), black and white (…preferably in striped form…). I am a firm believer that investing in timeless neutrals is always a great idea – and each of these pieces can be styled in various ways and worn for years to come! Also – did you notice I changed my hair color? Was feeling the itch for a big change, but am reaaaaally trying to grow it out again (…that struggle is real!). I am loving the darker color – excited to let the sun work it’s magic and bring out some honey highlights while I visit Australia next week, too. Going for the “sunkissed brunette” look after a few washes and some quality time at the beach!

This post has been on my brain for quite a while, but for some reason I’ve had trouble finding the right words to say. For so long I have been in a rhythm of bumping out fashion related posts and it took a moment for me (or really about a month) to step back and figure out what exactly I want this space to be. Over the holidays I did some serious soul searching about what makes me happy in life and in my work – and I’ve come to realize that since I started my blog back in 2014, what made me happy then is different from what makes me happy today.
Hello there and happy Friday! Hope y’all had a fabulous week. 🙂 Things have been kind of crazy in my world lately – we’re doing some serious renovating to the house (…basically just decided to go for it this week…and our contractor started this week, too, eek!)…which means I’ve been spending lots of time researching, planning and finalizing our plans. The good news is that we officially signed papers today and ordered all of the supplies…it’s definitely happening…yayyy! Can’t wait to share more with y’all…very excited about what’s coming! Stay tuned for that – lots of IG stories and a big ‘ol blog post to come!
Hey there! How was your weekend? I spent mine bundled up on the sofa binge watching This Is Us (…and sobbing, a LOT obviously, ha! This show hits ya right in the feels…it’s soooo good!). True story: this is the first time I have ever binge watched a TV series when I am not sick and bed ridden…and it feels AMAZING. Clearly I have been living under a rock and missing out on a seriously fabulous form of r&r. Anyone else watching This Is Us? I’m excited for season 3 to start this week…I will definitely be watching!
Hello friends! I don’t know about you, but I am feeling so revived as we to get a fresh start to 2018. Lots of new goals (…finish decorating the house, travel, read a new book each month) but also lots of lifestyle changes I am excited to add to the mix. For instance, Blake and I got gym memberships (we are the New Years cliché haha, buuut hey, the first step is actually getting the membership, so we’re onto something! 😉 ) and I’ve incorporated a simple step to my daily skincare routine that will not only help my skin in the long run, but protects it daily now!

Hello there! Been a while since my last blog entry…I haven’t taken an actual vacation from blog-land in YEARS! After an insane holiday season, my body and mind needed a b-r-e-a-k and so I finally listened. Instead of stressing about Instagram posts or blog content, I bought two books (…and actually started reading them, ha), went on leisurely coffee dates with friends and soaked up time in our backyard playing fetch with Watson (which is surprisingly therapeutic haha). It may not sound terribly exciting, but man was it exactly what I needed to recharge and feel like myself again. I was basically a walking zombie by December 23rd (my last deadline of 2017)…thus, excuse my radio silence over the last week, but it was some much needed time off! All that said, I hope you got to enjoy some quality rest & relaxation time of your own, too. I’m so glad you stopped by LL and I am excited about all the fabulous content headed this way…feeling ready for what 2018 has in store!
‘Tis the season to stay in, cozy up on the couch and add a little holiday cheer to your everyday coffee drink! Living in Austin means our winters can go from 30 to 80 degrees within days…which is why it’s nice to have a pack of
Hello there! How’s your week going? I’ve been a busy bee around here finishing up my last projects of 2017. I’ve got one final collaboration in the works and am excited to share that before the new year! It’s so crazy how quickly 2017 flew by…and I don’t know about you, but I sure am looking forward to a fresh start in 2018. Always love that “new beginnings” feeling.
