Well hello there! I am finally back from a five day getaway/collab trip to Laguna Beach (super excited to share what we were hard at work on over the last few days…stay tuned in January for that!)…thus, I’ve gone from 80 degree temps to mid-40’s here in Austin! As we all know…guys are quite challenging to shop for! If you’re like me, you like to give gifts with a little more meaning behind them and not just something you tossed in last minute at the checkout line…as in, it’s fun to ensure the gift is fitting for the person receiving it. For example – a cool new chemex coffee maker for the fella who’s into coffee and maybe a fun mug or two to coincide, or a neat way to store records (see the top right) and you could even throw in a couple of his favorite records he doesn’t have in his collection just yet.

As the holidays approach…(and wowww did they come quick!), it’s time to start thinking about what you’ll be wearing to those big dinners with family and friends. Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week?! I feel like it should juuuust now be halloween… Oh life, it never slows down, does it?
When I think of what to wear to Thanksgiving, I think of a chic yet casual/comfortable outfit. After all, that second helping of pie is a definite do on this very special day with loved ones! Last weekend Blake and I attended a gala to support his aunt and uncle’s charity work and the theme of the event was “reach for the stars” …hence, this sparkly number above! Given that it’s not often (…like…ever) that I attend a fancy gala, I immediately went into panic mode while figuring out what to wear! One of my best girl friends uses Rent The Runway often for weddings and parties, so she recommended I give it a go. Also, who doesn’t want to wear a killer designer gown for a tiny fraction of the price?! I certainly do! Honestly, the rental fees are often a lot less than the cost of a new dress…which makes more sense for me, especially if I’m wearing this showstopper above (…aka a memorable + fancy dress = I probably won’t re-wear it to another event, especially if photographed in it!). Now that I can get on board with! …I can also get on board with the fact that I felt like a princess/beauty queen in this red number…so if I can relive that feeling of blissful confidence again, I most certainly will…and I’ll highly recommend it to you, too!read more

Let’s talk about this long cardigan, shall we? First, I should mention it’s on super sale…but only until November 15th! (During the Nordstrom Fall Clearance Sale). It’s now just $46, on sale from $78…soo…it’s a definite wardrobe staple at that price! Second, it is SO SOFT! As in, I was actually very surprised with how soft this sweater really is…so much so that when my mom came over to my apartment last week, I literally pulled it out of my closet just to have her feel it. Yes, I’m weird…but hey, this cardi is just THAT awesome (…and clearly thaaaat soft!). 😉

Ohh these over the knee boots! They’re just killin’ it this season…and I am excited to finally hop on this bandwagon thanks to my new pair by Seychelles! These things are SO comfy and look incredible with jeans and a tee (example: see above 😉 ) and suuuper stunning with a dress (very sassy and playful…which is not exactly what I normally go for so I’m loving being able to switch it up!). I paired my OTK boots with THE coziest, softest long sleeve shirt that’s now on sale for just $22 (down from $38 – not too shabby! 😉 ).read more

One of the many reasons I love fall/winter is for the HOLIDAY PARTIES!
