Feelin’ Cozy

Hey there! How was your weekend? We took ours nice and slowwww…and it was SO WONDERFUL. Worthy of all caps because I’ve been in hustle mode leading up to our trip and I finally carved out some time to r-e-l-a-x and it was fabulous. I forget how much I enjoy simply lounging around the house without a to-do list floating through my brain. Now that’s livin’, I tell ya! Saturday I had planned to hit the mall and do some last minute shopping for our cruise, but after I got ready to venture out for the day, I made it to my car and then realized I needed some “me time” more than I thought I did…my body and mind were telling me nix to shopping list, grab a book and go lay down! I turned back around, swapped my denim cutoffs for some ultra soft joggers (*insert immediate sigh of relief here*) and suddenly the day went from “meh” (albeit productive) to pure, restful bliss (#worthit).
A big thank you to Jockey for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own.

Two things I reaaaaally love: a midday coffee break and a cute, comfortable outfit. Combine the two and it’s a recipe that can truly turn my day around. Yesterday morning was quite hectic as I have been trying to prepare for our two week trip abroad (we leave Monday), and when my sister asked to grab a cup, pastry and relax for a bit at one of our favorite spots in town (Tom’s Coffee never fails us!), I immediately jumped at the invitation. By 1pm I realized I had yet to get out of my loungewear and was fading quickly. Caffeine (well…”half caff” given Baby P 😉 ), quality sister time, and a colorful tee + denim shorts combo to the rescue!

Do you ever get home from a long day at work and want nothing more than a mini spa sesh in your own bathroom? My sister and I have been talking about this feeling more and more…the older we get, the more we appreciate a solid skincare routine that both works and feels like pampering – I mean, is that too much to ask? There’s not a whole lot a hot bath, face mask and glass of wine can’t fix…at least in the short term. 😉 Apparently the fine folks over at

Anyone else counting down the days to Austin City Limits music festival this year? While I love the bands, scene and food trucks (obviously…haha), half the fun is figuring out what to wear. ACL is a lot more relaxed than Coachella – the two aren’t really comparable in the style category… it’s doubtful you’ll see anyone with glittery tattoos on their faces or designer handbags around their waists. Which is all the more reason why I love this wonderful weekend in Austin… you can still have fun dressing in your festival best, but the outfits are also 100% wearable off the festival grounds… which is totally a win/win in my book!
Early bird gets the worm…and the best view without the crowd! Blake and I both had intense work weeks, so the first thing on our minds for the weekend was to get outside and soak in some fresh air. We’ve been glued to our computers lately, so it was a very welcome break to swap my jeans for ultra comfy leggings + a breezy oversized tee and enjoy time at the 360 Overlook, a hike that overlooks the beloved 360 Bridge and Lake Austin here in town. Now that this city has an ever-expanding population, we’ve realized to soak up our old stomping grounds without a crowd of people, you’ve got to get up early…which also kind of kicks us into high gear to seize the day just as the sun comes out! One of my favorite things about Austin is how outdoor friendly the city is…there’s always a nature-filled place you can go to clear your head and reset – and this weekend is all about hitting that reset button!
Have y’all been shopping the
Well hello there, summer shoes of my dreams! I recently discovered a shoe brand that I am now boasting about all over town (…well really, whenever I wear these shoes, someone stops to ask where I got them…they pretty much speak for themselves).
If there’s one thing y’all know I love…it’s pants. Always high waist, sometimes straight leg, often cropped and a style that’s new to me (…and that I am now totally in love with…), wide leg! My sister shot this post and she was even completely sold and went out and scooped up a pair for herself THAT DAY. If that doesn’t tell ya how good
Fresh coffee in hand, Watson to my right, a good book on the agenda and the comfiest dress you can imagine – this, my friends, is my happy place. Insert Blake onto the sofa next to me (…he’s behind the camera) and I’ve got myself an absolutely perfect morning (…or interchange coffee for wine and there’s one heck of an evening!). As I get older and we settle into our home, I find that I LOVE to live in this space we’ve created. I used to be the kind of person who got restless and would never consider myself a homebody…but as time has gone on, this is where I am happiest. It’s funny how much things can change within even just a year. A house, a dog, a new patio – we’re growing our roots here and it feels so good. Lots of love in this place!
