Hello there! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the first day of spring! 😉 It was sunny yet cool in Austin and Blake and I spent our morning cleaning (did some serious deep cleaning, felt so good to get rid of clutter around here) and then ventured to grab tacos (Torchy’s Tacos = has my heart) and ran some errands around town. Overall, it was a productive and calm day…couldn’t really ask for a better Sunday! After all of the SXSW madness that ended yesterday for me, it was a much needed change of pace and I am happy to be back to my old ways of being a hermit and in my pajamas by 8pm..ha!

Pretty in Periwinkle

…And then I put on the cutest little periwinkle dress and kind of fell in love with it (…okay, more like a lot fell in love with it!). How adorable is this dress?! Gah, seriously obsessed and currently contemplating if I need it in more colors (likely going to be a yes…ha!).

Okay okay, first off, how are y’all? It’s been a few days since my last post and I am one very tired gal! As you know, SXSW is in full swing and thus, for the first time in a very long time, I have not been glued to my laptop but instead have been havin’ a ball listening to some amazing bands, hanging with my best friends and drinking way too much…(but really, when drinks are free and it’s good beer, can ya really say no?). Anyhoo, it’s felt like a mini vacation in this city all week and I am surprised to say that “I still got it” after a couple years of going into full on granny mode, ha! Although I suffered a severe hangover after just two drinks last night (hey, granny style for over a year = serious light weight), I’m gonna go ahead and say it was well worth it. SXSW fun > SXSW hangover. 😉

I hope you all had a marvelous weekend and got to soak in some quality r&r time – or perhaps some time outside if your city is already in full-on spring mode like Austin! My weekend was pretty jam packed (what’s new?!) but Blake and I stepped away from the SXSW madness to do some home decor shopping on Saturday afternoon and OMG the apartment looks so beautiful and clean! Can’t wait to show y’all my new home office area (…it was time for a refresh in our abode) and a few other tidbits we picked up (very thankful for our last minute run through Home Goods!). Anyways, I’ll be posted a full blog about everything later, excited to share some photos!

SXSW Festival Outfit Inspiration

Good morning! Hope you’re having a great week – we’re SO close to the weekend, can’t wait!! SXSW festival begins next week in Austin, so this weekend is kind of the pre-party phase and I have some blogger pals coming into town that I can’t wait to meet! I feel like I know so many amazing ladies in the blogger community all over the country just from communicating over social media or email, so it will be pretty cool to finally meet a few of those women in person! Looking forward to grabbing cocktails and having some serious girl time! 😉

Last night the thunder was so loud that I actually woke up and scooted closer to Blake, ha! …Felt like I was a kid again in need of protection. So funny now that I’m not half asleep and can think clearly about it. Aside from me acting like a big baby during the storm (lolz), I wanted to update you all on the pre-SXSW panel I spoke in on Monday night…the good news? I survived public speaking! 😉

Go-To Denim for Spring with Nordstrom

Hello there & happy Monday! Okay, first things first – these jeans are UNDER $95! (Because really, that’s something to hit the caps lock button for 😉 )…and two, I am thrilled to partner with Nordstrom (one of my favorite retailers, as y’all know!) to feature a denim staple for spring – these killer skinny jeans by KUT from the Kloth. Not only is this particular denim line budget friendly, but clearly super ADORABLE (yes, worthy of all caps again…), flattering and above all – comfy! Happy weekend, ladies! It’s been a while since my last Instagram roundup post, so I figured there’s no better time than the weekend to relax & shop through some outfits you may have missed over on my Insta-feed! I never knew I was such a shoe person until I went back and picked out some of my favorite photos…and clearly, I have a thing for shoes! 😉 …and cozy cardigans, and easy-to-layer tees…as I always say, comfort is key when it comes to my style.

Any fun weekend plans on your end? I am off to grab coffee and snap some blog photos with my pops in a few hours (true story: blog life = never stops!) – I am getting used to our Saturday morning routine together, I’ll be sad when he heads back to New Mexico for work in two weeks! My dad is a camera operator in the film industry (in a nutshell, he films movies/tv series) and he just got a new gig that will last until June.. Thus, trying to soak in this time together before he leaves…perhaps Blake and I will just have to plan a trip to NM in the next few months! 😉 (No problem there, Santa Fe is one of my favorite cities!).

Save The Dates With Minted

This has been a long time in the works and I’m excited to share that our Save The Dates have finally arrived! After scoping out a few different websites that could provide the perfect design and font we had in mind with our photos, we finally found the prettiest cards from Minted! (And by “we finally found..” I really mean I scoured the Internet and then got everything together and showed Blake the final product, ha! Let’s just say he’s not as into this whole planning thing as I am..!). 😉

Skinny Jeans & Peep Toe Booties

Hello there, gals! I am currently writing this from up in the air en route to NYC! I just finished editing about three different rounds of blog photos (so much cute stuff headed to LL!) and on my third cup of coffee at the moment. I woke up at 3:30am to pack (did I mention I’m the most disorganized human ever? Had zero time to get to that last night..eek!) and had coffee at home, then another at the airport and again on the plane – thus, this girl is not ready to sleep any time soon, haha. Also – I feel like the lady next to me probably thinks I’m a crazy as I edit photos of myself…always feel super weird about that part in public when people have no idea this is normal for me, ha!

I am a native Austinite, wife to my favorite person ever (hey Blake!), and a big fan of skinny jeans & ankle booties. I believe that embracing a unique sense of style is an empowering form of self expression, and I hope this space inspires others to discover that for themselves.
