Traditional Irish Soda Bread

Is your mouth watering 1. looking at pictures of the bread above and 2. just thinking of bread?! YES ME TOO. Okay, glad we’re on the same page about that one… 😉 If there’s one thing that Europe does right (well…they do a lot of things right but we won’t go down that rabbit hole haha), it’s most certainly bread…scones, croissants, french bread, focaccia…you name it, it’s delicious and gives my heart pangs because there’s simply nothing like sipping hot coffee or tea and indulging in freshly baked bread, homemade butter and yummy jam…especially while at an outdoor cafe in Paris or better yet, at a darling cottage house in the midst of the Irish countryside. Yes, that scene I just set was REAL LIFE for all of four glorious hours and I am so excited to give y’all a closer look AND share a super easy, wonderful Irish soda bread recipe.

My foolproof go-to when it comes to dressing comfortably for those cool, crisp days: simple layers. Striped tee, a snap-up pullover, classic skinny jeans and ankle booties. It’s an outfit that I feel really good in – it’s casual yet put together and the color + texture combination is just so perfect together. Cozy fleece, a hint of stripes, a pop of red and my forever favorite cognac accessories…all the ‘yes’ to this outfit!

Though we haven’t quite yet hit fall temperatures in Austin (fingers crossed a cool breeze comes our way soon, ha!), I am so ready to rock one of my favorite style duos: a dress & ankle booties! It’s a cool meets feminine combination that’s both fashionable and comfortable…add a hat + cute handbag and you’re golden! I ventured over to
Ohh goodness, I definitely felt all the nostalgia pangs as I organized this travel post! It’s been a full week since we arrived home from our two week
Oh ya know, just shot a blog post with a casual 15th Century castle in the backdrop…no big deal… 😉 KIDDING! But also kind of serious…like…what?! This week Blake and I had the pleasure of visiting the Blarney Castle in Ireland for the second the time within a year (which is something we certainly thought we’d never get to do!) – and it also made for a perfect excuse to soak up the crisp 60 degree weather and layer up with one of my favorite pullovers! Y’all know I am obsessed (is that too weak a word to describe my affinity for

Hey there! How was your weekend? We took ours nice and slowwww…and it was SO WONDERFUL. Worthy of all caps because I’ve been in hustle mode leading up to our trip and I finally carved out some time to r-e-l-a-x and it was fabulous. I forget how much I enjoy simply lounging around the house without a to-do list floating through my brain. Now that’s livin’, I tell ya! Saturday I had planned to hit the mall and do some last minute shopping for our cruise, but after I got ready to venture out for the day, I made it to my car and then realized I needed some “me time” more than I thought I did…my body and mind were telling me nix to shopping list, grab a book and go lay down! I turned back around, swapped my denim cutoffs for some ultra soft joggers (*insert immediate sigh of relief here*) and suddenly the day went from “meh” (albeit productive) to pure, restful bliss (#worthit).

Two things I reaaaaally love: a midday coffee break and a cute, comfortable outfit. Combine the two and it’s a recipe that can truly turn my day around. Yesterday morning was quite hectic as I have been trying to prepare for our two week trip abroad (we leave Monday), and when my sister asked to grab a cup, pastry and relax for a bit at one of our favorite spots in town (Tom’s Coffee never fails us!), I immediately jumped at the invitation. By 1pm I realized I had yet to get out of my loungewear and was fading quickly. Caffeine (well…”half caff” given Baby P 😉 ), quality sister time, and a colorful tee + denim shorts combo to the rescue!
