Blush Striped Sweater

Hey ladies, how’s your week going? Things have been movin’ & shakin’ in our world…now that I’ve got a pretty (…and clean!) workspace, I have been feeling even more motivated to wake up early and take on the day…it’s the best feeling and has definitely given me a nice boost in my productivity! Thus, it’s 7am and I felt compelled to wake up with the sunrise and get this post up for y’all! …Not to mention, coffee was calling my name as I lay in bed, ha!

This striped sweater is THE CUTEST!! Worthy of all caps because it’s one of those precious pieces that is absolutely timeless, SO soft and can easily be layered now and worn with cutoff denim shorts (…and a belt!) in the spring. It’s fairly light, so definitely a perfect pick if you live in those cities that don’t really stick to seasonal weather…(looking at you, Austin, TX! Y’all…it was 75 degrees a few days ago…in JANUARY!)…

One of my goals this year is to share more personal posts (writing = my therapy), so topics ranging from personal style and life happenings, to blogging tips and advice – and anything in between – I look forward to sharing more and exploring this new chapter of LL with you!

Cozy Neutral Layers

Hello there and happy Friday! I hope you all had a wonderful week and have some fun weekend plans on your agenda. Blake and I are meeting friends for dinner tonight (yaaas to margaritas, please!) and I’ve got some shopping plans penciled in tomorrow – looking forward to that coffee + galpal date!

The winter weather has been so hot and cold (…literally!) recently that oftentimes, wearing layers is key. Seriously…within five minutes of walking in and out of the grocery store, it can go from a breezy 70 degrees to 40 degrees… Austin is so crazy! This is where those cozy layered looks come to the rescue!

Before & After: My Home Office Reveal!

Hello friends! Oh my goodness, I am SO excited to finally reveal my home office makeover with you!! As we make our way into the New Year, one of my biggest goals was to create what I like to call a “home office sanctuary.” After spending countless hours on Pinterest for inspiration (you can follow me on Pinterest here!), I teamed up with the wonderful team over at West Elm in Austin to make this dreamy space come to life! The vision was airy, feminine and above all, a place that inspired me to write, style and photo edit.

Here’s the thing…Blake and I live in a one bedroom apartment and just re-signed a 14-month lease as we save up for a house! Sooo…given that we aren’t going anywhere any time soon and the fact that my office is literally in our dining room (gotta work with what you got!), it was simply time for a major update – and one that was both practical (we need to use space as efficiently as possible!) and easy on the eyes!

Ps. Special shoutout to Blake for letting me do whatever I wanted to this common area…a fluffy pink pillow, bold rug and exposed shelves filled with pretty trinkets, shoes and handbags… You are THE man of my dreams! 😉 He has his own little desk space and jokes that he’s going to put up Slipknot posters in retaliation…haha! Apparently, I won’t be taking over the entire apartment juuuust yet! 😉

Happy Friday, gals! Any fun plans this weekend? Blake and I have a dinner + movie date tonight, we’re seeing Why Him, that new James Franco film…I’m excited! Ready for a yummy IPA and some laughs! We’ve also been in the process of deep cleaning our apartment, so it looks like we’ve got a few Goodwill runs on our agenda this weekend. I’m finally nearly finished with my home office makeover (…just need to swap the light fixture and add the curtains!), so we’ll put the final touches on that room over the next couple of days…can’t wait to show y’all how amazing it looks!! I’ll be sharing that before/after post next week, so stay tuned! 🙂

Fresh Beginnings in 2017

So long, 2016! What a year it was! Blake and I got married (ohh the love!), I traveled to 8 countries (bliss!), worked so hard I cried (a lot!), and we finally started turning our little apartment into a home (yay #adulting!). 2016 was one for the books and while it will always hold a very special place in my heart, I am excited for fresh beginnings and new goals as we dance our way into 2017…because come midnight, this granny (yes, admittedly I can’t “hang” like I used to, ha), will certainly be feeling toasty from champagne and happiness as we ring in the new year with our closest friends. (…And probably Beyonce if we get to make some DJ requests.. 😉 ). Bring on the bubbly and perhaps a mannequin challenge!

Unique Home Decor Finds

Anyone else have an obsession with Etsy for those unique home decor finds? Hi, that’s me! It’s always my go-to when I’m searching for something a little out of the ordinary to decorate our space or add a unique touch. I love that it’s a wonderful site where artisans from all over the world can sell their products under one roof…not to mention, supporting small shops is always a do in my book! As Blake and I save for a house this year, we’re locked into a 14-month lease at our current apartment, thus, making this little one bedroom abode feel like a home has been a top priority for us over the last few months. It definitely helped that we got married three months ago and wedding gifts jump started our home decor hunt… I realized I finally felt like an adult when I was more excited about new pots and pans arriving on our doorstep than a pair of shoes – ha!

Best Post-Holiday Sales!

Hello loves! I hope you’re having a wonderful and relaxing week!! I took some time off from blogging/Instagram over the past few days to really soak in time with my family and friends from out-of-town…it was bliss! Finally feeling back to my normal (happy, less overwhelmed) self – thinking I should start scheduling “Olivia get off your laptop and go outside” or “Olivia get off your phone and read a book” breaks more often, ha! …Definitely a healthy thought for 2017. 😉
