How To Dress Up A Chunky Sweater
Hey ladies – happy Halloween! I hope your week is off to a great start and you’re indulging in aaaall the candy today. 😉 Blake and I are excited to go trick or treating with my niece and nephew for a bit, then head home and pass out candy in our neighborhood…it’s our first Halloween in the new house…kind of a milestone, right? Ready to meet some more neighbors and see all the cute kiddos in their costumes – big day ahead!
As y’all know, sweaters are probably my favorite wardrobe piece when it comes to fall and winter wardrobes. They’re ultra cozy, flattering and can be dressed up or down. Normally when you think of a chunky sweater, it’s paired with jeans and cool sneakers or flats…so today I’m excited to style the cuuuutest sweater in a more dressed up way!

Hey friends! How’s your week going? Things have been busy but good in my world – my best friend Elissa is still in town and so we’ve been spending tons of time together (yay!) and yesterday took my niece and nephew on a little play date to an inflatable jump gym. The place is HUGE and we were literally the only people there…soooo of course Liss and I kicked off our shoes and jumped around (and sweat a LOT…and realized we are old and our bodies aren’t as agile as they once were haha) for over an hour. It was sooo fun! I miss being a kid…so carefree and easy. Adulthood is weird, ha! Anyhoo, after stuffing our faces with concession stand treats (ice cream, Cheetos, candy, gatorade), Elissa and I were pretty much zombies while the kiddos danced to the Trolls soundtrack on the ride home. Needless to say, it was a great day – always so thankful for quality time with my family and friends…social media is cool and all, but it’s the real life stuff that matters!
Is it the weekend yet? 😉 This week has proven to be a challenge with a lot on my plate and some BIG news that I’ll be sharing in the next couple of weeks (eek!! *not pregnant disclaimer* ha), so I am very ready for a calm, easy going weekend ahead! First things first when it comes to a peaceful weekend: dress the part! Casual graphic tee (loving art print tees lately), go-to distressed denim and the coziest cardigan. Hand me a good book and a big ‘ol cup of coffee and I’ll be one happy lady…
Looking for a chic and timeless color combination this fall? Hello, gorgeous grey and black! I’m always a fan of mixing complimentary textures together, and this cozy grey knit with a sleek leather jacket and distressed black skinny jeans is a total do this season!
Happy Saturday, friends! Hope your weekend is off to a great start. 🙂 Blake and I are enjoying ACL festival this weekend (Jay-Z killed it last night!) and excited to take on day two today. I am a granny so am only going Friday/Saturday…can’t hang like I used to…ha! This year has been particularly special for a couple of reasons…reason one is that I’m partnering with
A cold front hit Austin this morning and ohhh my goodness I could not be more grateful! I went for a long walk this morning to clear my head and soak up the gorgeous, crisp weather and felt revived as soon as I got home. Nothing like a true season change to bring some positive juju and make me feel inspired and motivated. I hope y’all are having a great start to your week, too!
Happy weekend, loves! Any big plans on the agenda? Blake and I celebrated his cousin’s 50th birthday with a giant shindig last night and we had so much fun! It was “decade” themed – so guests wore costumes from any decade between the 70s-90s…everyone got decked out! Blake went as 1970s John McEnroe and I dressed as 70s tennis pro Chrissie Evert…wigs, sweatbands, tube socks…we went full-on major dork mode (…the best!). Anyhoo, it’s currently 6pm and I am still recovering from my hangover (…if that’s any indication of a reaaaally solid night haha) and sore from all the dancing! Blake literally had to drag me off the dance floor and to our car…get some tequila in me and apparently I go from calm granny to crazy party girl…ha!
