Hi gals! First off, it’s finally getting a tad colder in Austin – it’s a Christmas miracle! Second, this means one thing that I loooove when it comes to styling an outfit…layering up and accessorizing accordingly! So what does that mean exactly? Vests over dresses, sparkly jewelry (which I especially love around the holidays) and a pretty new iPhone 6 case by STIL to match! I’m a sucker for fashionable tech, and this case definitely fits my simple style perfectly.
Hello, cutest little red dress I ever did see! Complete with a sweetheart neckline and off the shoulder details (are those not precious?), I’d say this dress just about takes the cake when it comes to an adorable holiday party pick!
This is actually the exact outfit I wore to my work Christmas party last Saturday evening and it was a huge hit! Blake and I had just finished shooting a blog post for Style Me Pretty while at Villa Del Lago in Austin (umm, is this place not stunning?!), and we were short on time so I quickly changed into this look before we jetted to the party.
This vest = a magical, soft pillow that you wear around your body…aka, it’s fabulous and you guessed it – SO comfy. My faux fur (not that I could afford real fur #letsbehonest, but Blake is a vegetarian and would be soo proud that it’s faux 😉 ) is by bb Dakota and I wear this thing ALL the time! No seriously, if you follow me on Instagram, I reaaaally do wear it all the time..ha! It elevates an otherwise much more casual look and adds that practical thing we like to call warmth…as in, dressing for these colder temps…because, ya know, we’re nearly to winter and all. (Also..what the what?! Y’all, it’s December 7th…how the heck did that happen?!).
Ohh Austin, how I love this city! There are hidden gems and activities all over this place, like the beautiful Springdale Farm. As you can see it’s a precious little farmhouse with stunning grounds filled with fresh vegetables (chicken coop not pictured, ha!) and the sweetest owners. One of my photographer friends had been wanting to shoot at Springdale Farm for a while, so finally we were able to make it happen! Every Wednesday and Saturday morning, the farm hosts a farmers market where you can shop for fresh veggies and fruits – super cool concept and just an overall wonderful atmosphere at the farm…sooo peaceful, relaxing and inviting – my kinda place!
Hello friends! I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend! I was just telling Blake how badly I needed this long holiday break – I think I got super spoiled without having a full agenda and having him home all day for the past few days…it was SO nice! Lots of movies (we watched Coming to America – with Eddie Murphy – and it was hilarious…and Pitch Perfect 2..sorry Blake, thanks for bearing with me on that one, ha!), ate so much food (my mom sent us home with pleeeenty of leftovers that we have already devoured) and just overall quality rest and relaxation. I can’t tell you the last time I went an entire day without having a lengthy to-do list…I think I should do this food + lounge-binge thing more often! 😉 Ps. Y’all…I actually started reading a book! It’s a Christmas miracle…I finally had some free time to read! I’m currently on chapter 3 and yes, it’s most definitely a romantic chick-lit novel…and for now I’ll refrain from sharing the title to spare myself any judgement, ha! Blake is over there reading quantum physics and I’m reading about a sappy post-college love triangle. Hey, ya know…the world needs all kinds, right? 😉
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Hopefully you’ve slept off all the turkey and stuffing and now you’re re-energized to take on the day…and some AMAZING Black Friday sales! I’ve rounded up my favorite retailers offering killer deals and am featuring of few of your favorite LL looks that are currently on SUPER sale for you to shop shop shop!
Hey gals! Today I’m taking some time to share some great Thanksgiving dinner outfit inspiration! I know it can seem daunting to figure out what to wear – for one, around a ton of people you haven’t seen in forever and two, something that is comfortable enough to let you eat that second helping of pie…and dressing…and green bean casserole…okay you get it, let’s talk comfy AND cute outfits!
Well hello there! I am finally back from a five day getaway/collab trip to Laguna Beach (super excited to share what we were hard at work on over the last few days…stay tuned in January for that!)…thus, I’ve gone from 80 degree temps to mid-40’s here in Austin! Luckily, Austin weather fluctuates so frequently, that I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to step out in a cute top and jeans in no time. Perks of Texas winters! 😉read more
As the holidays approach…(and wowww did they come quick!), it’s time to start thinking about what you’ll be wearing to those big dinners with family and friends. Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week?! I feel like it should juuuust now be halloween… Oh life, it never slows down, does it?
When I think of what to wear to Thanksgiving, I think of a chic yet casual/comfortable outfit. After all, that second helping of pie is a definite do on this very special day with loved ones! So, I’ve styled an outfit that you can wear from Thanksgiving with family next week, to a date night with your fella the next…
Last weekend Blake and I attended a gala to support his aunt and uncle’s charity work and the theme of the event was “reach for the stars” …hence, this sparkly number above! Given that it’s not often (…like…ever) that I attend a fancy gala, I immediately went into panic mode while figuring out what to wear! One of my best girl friends uses Rent The Runway often for weddings and parties, so she recommended I give it a go. Also, who doesn’t want to wear a killer designer gown for a tiny fraction of the price?! I certainly do! Honestly, the rental fees are often a lot less than the cost of a new dress…which makes more sense for me, especially if I’m wearing this showstopper above (…aka a memorable + fancy dress = I probably won’t re-wear it to another event, especially if photographed in it!). Now that I can get on board with! …I can also get on board with the fact that I felt like a princess/beauty queen in this red number…so if I can relive that feeling of blissful confidence again, I most certainly will…and I’ll highly recommend it to you, too!read more
