Finding Balance
Hello there, friends – I’m going to switch things up today and get a little personal with y’all! I don’t know about you…but this month has been overwhelmingly busy in my world. So busy, in fact, that I have had a couple of cry-fests (…that’s what I like to call it when I sob for about 10 minutes straight, ha! Call me crazy…but it’s simply my form of coping when life throws too many things my way), just as a healthy need to release my pent up stress and anxiety to “do it all.” The thing is, I am one of those people who believes I can always be doing more – pleasing more people, achieving higher goals, bumping out more content…you name it, I’ve added it to my plate (…and by the way, this is me admitting that whole, “I do it to myself” thing…!). And while yes, setting goals to work towards is awesome, killing yourself in the process is simply not okay. I feel like each month is a learning experience for me in navigating just how much I can handle in both my work and personal life – especially since oftentimes my personal life is integrated into my work…which is where the necessity of finding balance comes into play.

Hooray for holiday party season! From LBD’s to little red dresses, and satin to velvet or lace – ‘tis the season to rock a dress that makes you feel like a million bucks. 😉 Whether you’re headed to a work shindig or holiday party with your besties, have some fun playing up festive colors and textures!
Hello friends! I’m currently writing this post from a coffeehouse in Austin…it’s rainy and cold outside but there’s Christmas music playing and I’m nice and bundled up at my little table…Ohh how I love the holidays! We got back from Mexico last night and after sleeping like a rock, I woke up ready to take on the week (…with the help of a double latte, obvs..! 😉 ).
Happy Sunday, ladies! I hope you’ve had a wonderful, relaxing weekend thus far! We’re still in Mexico but headed home this evening…I thought I’d squeeze in a blog post while Blake is still sleeping…coffee in hand and a view of palm trees swaying in the breeze from our balcony. No complaints here! 😉 Though I’ve been in “warm weather mode” this weekend, I’ve been told it’s quite cold back in Austin…thus as soon as we touch down tonight, it’s goodbye cutoff shorts and hello cozy knits, jeans and ankle booties!
Hello there! How’s your week going? Blake and I are headed to Cabo for his cousin’s beach wedding bright and early tomorrow…thus, you can imagine that I’ve been more motivated than ever to get back into a solid fitness routine! Not to mention, after thoroughly enjoying stuffing my face over the Thanksgiving holiday, let’s just say my body has been telling me to get up and mooooove, even if the sweatpants in my closet are calling my name. 😉
If there’s one thing I love about the holidays, it’s that I get to spend more time with my out-of-town friends! It has sort of become one of those unexpected holiday traditions I look forward to each year. (When you’re younger, you don’t exactly look ahead and think half of your friend crew will move away one day!). Thus, this particular time of year is dear to my heart given that we get to spend some quality time together! One of my very best friends, Lauren of
Every season there seems to be that one pair of shoes I reach for above the rest…and let’s just say when I bought these
