Hello there! Is it just me or did it absolutely feel like a Monday today? I was definitely not ready to get back in the swing of things and could have happily used another day to recover from the conference I attended over the weekend…kind of felt like I got hit by a bus all day, ha! Thinking that’s my body telling me I need to slow down and take a nap…fear not, my bed is calling my name shortly after I click publish on this post. 🙂
Hi there! How is your weekend going? Things have been crazy busy in my world this week…I am currently in Dallas for the blogger conference I mentioned last week and man..it is BUSY! I woke up this morning at 6am to answer some emails because our schedule has been so jam packed over the past few days. Though waking up at 6am on a Saturday is never ideal, honestly it was really nice to enjoy some peace and quiet as the sun came up…always such a beautiful part of the day and nice to just be me and my thoughts (…and my giant cup of coffee, obvs! 😉 ) for a little while. Thus far the conference has been really wonderful (lots of social media tips, photo editing tools, brand collaboration meetings) and I’ve loved getting to spend so much time with one of my best friends (Lauren from the blog Vandi Fair – seriously we are GOOFS when we get together, so that has been amazing), but I must admit I am very excited to head back to Austin tonight to see Blake…3 days later and I am dying to see him! ..Hey, that’s a good sign though, ha.
Hello there! How was your weekend? Blake and I ventured to 3 local breweries on Saturday (…which left me asleep from 6pm on Saturday all the way to 7am on Sunday…let’s just say I’ll probably stay away from beer for a few weeks, ha!) and had lots of quality family time on Sunday (double dinner duty with Blake’s fam and mine – needless to say my belly & taste buds were very happy yesterday!). Overall, it was a great weekend and I haven’t felt this rested in a very long time…weirdly enough, ready for Monday and excited for what this week has in store (hey, that’s a great feeling I haven’t had in a while!).
Happy Thursday, ladies! I am super excited that we’re nearing the weekend because one of Blake’s best friends is in town and we have plans to attend a brewery tour and spend the day outside with some delicious cold beers – my kinda Saturday plans! 😉 I definitely thought yesterday was Thursday (…even ordered the “Thursday special” at a coffeehouse yesterday…ha! Needless to say, this week has been a long one already..!), so let’s just say I am counting down the minutes to 5pm tomorrow afternoon.. (then again, what’s new?! 😉 ).
Hello there! I hope your week is off to a great start! Today was kind of a “meh” day in my world…felt like I haven’t stopped moving ALL day. Perhaps that’s just Monday for ya…either way, after cleaning our apartment (true story: I count scrubbing the bathtub as a real workout…I broke a serious sweat, ha!) I treated myself to a beer and some sweatpants. Now, that’s my kinda Monday night! 😉 As y’all know, I am working on getting myself a new car, which means trying to sell my current one! Thus, I sat at the automotive shop for over an hour this afternoon (…and edited these images, ha – might as well get in some editing while I waited) and was very proud to call Blake afterwards and report that even though the man tried to talk me into buying wiper fluid and a new air filter (…I was determined NOT to be taken advantage of as a young lady who has minimal knowledge of cars) that I walked away with JUST an oil change. Hooray! (Anyone have this happen to them, too? You go in for something routine and suddenly you “need” 5 things done to your car and you walk out with a crazy bill? I’m SO over that!!). Anyhoo, my wonky Monday consisted of car services, grocery shopping, some time at the office, cleaning… you see what I mean? Not the best Monday I’ve ever had, ha!
Hello there! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the first day of spring! 😉 It was sunny yet cool in Austin and Blake and I spent our morning cleaning (did some serious deep cleaning, felt so good to get rid of clutter around here) and then ventured to grab tacos (Torchy’s Tacos = has my heart) and ran some errands around town. Overall, it was a productive and calm day…couldn’t really ask for a better Sunday! After all of the SXSW madness that ended yesterday for me, it was a much needed change of pace and I am happy to be back to my old ways of being a hermit and in my pajamas by 8pm..ha!
…And then I put on the cutest little periwinkle dress and kind of fell in love with it (…okay, more like a lot fell in love with it!). How adorable is this dress?! Gah, seriously obsessed and currently contemplating if I need it in more colors (likely going to be a yes…ha!).
Okay okay, first off, how are y’all? It’s been a few days since my last post and I am one very tired gal! As you know, SXSW is in full swing and thus, for the first time in a very long time, I have not been glued to my laptop but instead have been havin’ a ball listening to some amazing bands, hanging with my best friends and drinking way too much…(but really, when drinks are free and it’s good beer, can ya really say no?). Anyhoo, it’s felt like a mini vacation in this city all week and I am surprised to say that “I still got it” after a couple years of going into full on granny mode, ha! Although I suffered a severe hangover after just two drinks last night (hey, granny style for over a year = serious light weight), I’m gonna go ahead and say it was well worth it. SXSW fun > SXSW hangover. 😉
I hope you all had a marvelous weekend and got to soak in some quality r&r time – or perhaps some time outside if your city is already in full-on spring mode like Austin! My weekend was pretty jam packed (what’s new?!) but Blake and I stepped away from the SXSW madness to do some home decor shopping on Saturday afternoon and OMG the apartment looks so beautiful and clean! Can’t wait to show y’all my new home office area (…it was time for a refresh in our abode) and a few other tidbits we picked up (very thankful for our last minute run through Home Goods!). Anyways, I’ll be posted a full blog about everything later, excited to share some photos!
Good morning! Hope you’re having a great week – we’re SO close to the weekend, can’t wait!! SXSW festival begins next week in Austin, so this weekend is kind of the pre-party phase and I have some blogger pals coming into town that I can’t wait to meet! I feel like I know so many amazing ladies in the blogger community all over the country just from communicating over social media or email, so it will be pretty cool to finally meet a few of those women in person! Looking forward to grabbing cocktails and having some serious girl time! 😉
I hope your week is going well and if you’re in Austin, that you’re staying nice and dry – we had some serious rain these past few days! Last night the thunder was so loud that I actually woke up and scooted closer to Blake, ha! …Felt like I was a kid again in need of protection. So funny now that I’m not half asleep and can think clearly about it. Aside from me acting like a big baby during the storm (lolz), I wanted to update you all on the pre-SXSW panel I spoke in on Monday night…the good news? I survived public speaking! 😉
