Travel Diary: Aix-en-Provence, France
Happy weekend, ladies! Oohh I am SO excited to finally share this travel diary post with you! One of my absolute favorite stops we made on our Princess Cruise through the Mediterranean Coast was to southern France and the city of Aix-en-Provence, in particular. As y’all know, I’m a big fan of french culture (…and I even got to brush up on my french speaking here!) so visiting this precious, beautiful city made my heart very happy! Not to mention, getting to explore this city with Blake by my side…it was romantic and so much fun. Between strolling through cobblestone streets holding hands (hey, y’all know me…I’m a total sucker for those rom-com-real-life-moments) and eating and drinking our way through the city (the macaroons were out of this world!), we had a magical day in Aix-en-Provence! This morning as I was listening to the radio (big fan of talk radio over here), the hosts were chatting about sources of unhappiness – and the main one being comparison to others. Due to the nature of my career (blogging), let’s just say that small bit of information hit home for me because I am immersed in the strange world of social media daily – at all hours of the day – “social media never sleeps” they say…and it’s absolutely true. I’ll admit, even when I feel really great and full of confidence (which I actively have to make an effort to stay in this mindset), simply seeing someone else’s gorgeous, perfectly cropped and filtered Instagram photos immediately goes to my head and that confidence level (already in constant limbo) drops to the floor. Anyone else get this way?

Hello gals! I’m currently writing this from our cruise cabin (we’re at the Gibraltar port, thus…we finally have good Internet…hooray! 😉 ) while on on Mediterranean getaway with Princess Cruises! We’re 4 days in and I am soooo enjoying every single second… sight seeing in a ton of different coastal cities, incredible company (we’re with a bunch of other bloggers and their s/o’s and everyone is SO fun and down to earth!) and a beautiful floating hotel…what’s not to love? I can’t wait to share all of the photos with you guys – let’s hope I can do this trip justice when I share my wrap-up posts! (Truly, it’s been magical…so great to unwind and even nice to not have Internet access half the time, ha! It’s like a forced vacation…which seems to be exactly what I needed..:) ). More on that later, though.. 😉
