If there’s one thing I’ve learned about putting together an outfit when you know you’ll be nursing your baby, it’s this: BUTTONS! They’re my secret weapon when it comes to shopping for nursing-friendly tops and dresses that make you feel GOOD. (…Because as my fellow mamas know, wearing workout gear on repeat can often be the norm…even when there’s no workout on the agenda!). Grab your favorite pair of high rise denim, some boyfriend shorts (comfort is key!) or even your maternity jeans – whatever bottoms you feel comfortable wearing, and pair with any of these cute tops. Whip out some classic sneakers or summer sandals for the dresses! Sharing more of my nursing secrets below…
I have gotten out my computer countless times to write this post…but I always get too emotional to actually complete it. After three weeks with our precious Jude (…and as he is sound asleep beside me), I’m excited to write out all the details of this insanely wild, beautiful, otherworldly experience. At five days over my due date, Jude Patrick made his debut on Sunday, February 17th at 4:09am. I get chills and tear up just thinking about the moment we finally got to meet the little guy who’d been growing inside my belly…what a little personality was already formed and we didn’t even know it! I had read books, watched videos, listened to friends and family share their own birth stories…but nothing could have prepared me for such a life changing moment.
New year, new list of goals to make! Fitness is generally at the top of everyone’s resolutions list, but given that I’m in the midst of giving myself some serious grace (35 weeks pregnant over here), let’s just say my goal is to simply remain active. I currently take a daily walk – anywhere from two to five miles – to ease my discomfort, get my heart rate up and of course, gain some mental clarity. I have no idea what my new fitness routine will be in just five to 10 weeks time (…I mean, I have definitely been pinning “post pregnancy” inspiration to my fitness board on Pinterest, ha! I’m very much looking forward to that time!), but I know I’ll be incorporating some sort of physical activity…strolls with Baby P, maybe start BBG, get back into the gym…lots of options! Also, we just ordered a treadmill, so I’m super excited about being able to workout in the house while our little guy naps!
It’s been a while since I’ve done an Instagram roundup (they take a long time to do!), but given that it’s Cyber Monday and SO MUCH of what I wear on the regular is currently on major sale, I figured today is THE day to share the sale news! I included a couple of photos pre-pregnancy in here because the markdowns a really good on some items I featured last year…enjoy!

Hey gals, how was your weekend? I spent mine outdoors and it was LOVELY! If you’ve been reading my blog entries lately, you’ll have likely seen this one chatting about 9 things I didn’t expect when it came to pregnancy…and my lack of exercise motivation was definitely something I didn’t see coming, especially into the second trimester! I’ve felt like dead weight for the majority of my pregnancy and it wasn’t until last week that I really forced myself to get over the “tired” hurdle, pop in my headphones and listen to a Freakonomics podcast (my favorite), and start MOVING. My goal is nothing rigorous, but rather to keep my heart rate up and go on a 40 minute walk, twice a day. Breathe in the fresh air, leave my to-do list (and the dogs haha) behind, and get in some quality “me time.” Truth be told, my quickest pace is an 18-minute mile (…god bless haha, ah!). I’m definitely waddling along, but I am out there and feeling so proud of myself!! I’ve walked four to five miles per day for the last five days…y’all…that’s BIG in my world right now haha! read more

A big thank you to Finish Line for sponsoring this post! All opinions are my own.
Hey friends! How’s your week been? I couldn’t happier that it’s FRIDAY – YAY! In other news, we got a new puppy this week (more to love around here, right?! Printy fam = kinda a circus lately and we are ALL about it, ha!). Here’s a pic from my IG if you haven’t seen her yet…her name is Lulu and we are in love…Watson isn’t so sure yet, but we have faith they’ll be best friends soon enough!
More personal news: I am 21 weeks along in my pregnancy, the baby is 11 inches long and each foot is about the size of a paper clip (!!)…and I am feeling baby kicks whenever I slow down and sit for longer than five minutes at a time. Those little kicks are completely magical and surreal! Also – I started getting charley horses in my legs while sleeping this week…OMG WHAT. Apparently this is extremely common…which brought to me write this post because I have learned SO MANY THINGS about pregnancy that I feel like no one told me beforehand. All the “you’re glowing!” comments might be true for some, but for me there’s been some rather tough moments I had no idea were headed my way. Then again, if that “glow” people see is simply happiness being emitted given a new baby on the way, regardless that I have teen acne all over my forehead, well then, I’m definitely “glowing.” Maybe in the third trimester all the funky physical things will subside and that “glow” will finally make an appearance – or at least I’ll feel more like myself and less “I want to hide in my house and wear sweatpants all day.” 😉 Until then, I am still living in comfy clothing, testing out a whole lot of concealer brands and mustering all the strength in my being to take a 20 minute walk around the block…ha!
If there’s one thing that makes me stronger and mentally prepares me to tackle any challenge ahead, it’s routinely doing something active. Makeup off, hair pulled back, sneakers tied and ready to break a sweat! Whether I’m jamming to music that gets me pumped up, listening to a podcast that resonates and gives me a boost of positive energy, or simply brainstorming goals and feeling extra motivated work towards them (anyone else love that “me time” thinking when exercising?)…there’s just something about getting physical that brings out our best self. Feeling good starts from the inside out, and I’m loving Reebok’s new Be More Human movement to support that sentiment. Once laced up, where will these shoes take me? Both mentally and physically – the possibilities are endless when we stay inspired!
In the midst of dozens of pages of products in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I’ve sorted through it all (no really…like, tons of pages…you’re welcome 😉 ) and found my absolute favorite, worth-adding-to-your-cart pieces. A classic black top for $15 (!!), cozy pajamas you can wear all year (and cozy slippers to go with them!), workout gear that lasts forever (the leggings I mention in this post had previously lasted me over eight years…and they’re on sale for $35!), denim under $55 and lots of fabulous shoes! I figured a try-on haul was the best way to share the goods with y’all, so you can see my selects in action – sooo here we go! (Ps. As y’all know, items sell like hot cakes in this sale so if you see something you like, definitely scoop it up asap… I had quite a few things I missed out on during the Early Access portion…lesson learned!). read more
As I get deeper into the world of blogging, I’ve been exposed to a lot of different makeup brands that I probably wouldn’t have found on my own while strolling around Sephora. I used to be the person who swore off foundation or eyebrow powder, but in 2014 I was a newbie to the makeup world (…and in comparison to my fellow fashion bloggers, I probably still am…!) and was terribly afraid of layering up makeup in fear of looking (and feeling) unlike myself. However, by 2018 I’ve experimented a bit more and found some tried and trues I keep buying over and over again – and I’m super excited to share with y’all!
That said, you’ve likely seen a few of these brands mentioned on my blog before (hey there, Supergoop!), and I’m also including some new ones that have made the cut over the years. Sooo, let’s get to it! Ps. Sharing these items in order of how I apply them – start to finish…
Austin is filled with so many beautiful lookout points, and Mount Bonnell is one I hold dear to my heart. It’s a short hike up to jaw-drop stunning views of Lake Austin (…and the mega mansions that surround it!), and on a weekday evening it’s not yet filled with tourists. It was once a hidden gem in town, and thankfully on a random Wednesday night as the sun was setting, we were able to set up camp and practice some poses. The sun sets around 8:30pm these days, so luckily most folks had left the area and were headed home – which gave us plenty of space to stretch freely and soak up the cliffside views, lush greenery and open air.
