Colorful Printed Boho Dress

THIS dress! Ah, I am in loooove! I spotted this dress on the adorable Jess Lea Boutique website and knew it would be a summer hit in my wardrobe repertoire. I paired it with my favorite mule wedges to give the look a little more sass – but imagine this dress at a music festival and nix the heels for a pair of gladiator sandals…SO perfect! Such a versatile piece and I love the tribal print and vibrant colors. Definitely a showstopper! (And it leaves plenty of eat/drink/be merry room since it’s not cinched at the waist 😉 – YAY!).

Neutral + Lace Shift Dresses

When it comes to my wardrobe, I am all about pieces I can wear over and over again. A nudie, lacy shift dress is one item that can be worn in a casual or more formal way – not to mention the neutral dress acts as a blank canvas to colorful accessories that make changing the look of the dress simple and easy. I should also tell you that shift dresses are one of my very favorite styles because they leave you plenty of breathe room (…or room to finish off that Chipotle burrito…hoorah!) and are modest on top yet show a flash of those sun-kissed legs.As you learned from my Eileen Fisher post a couple months back, I am definitely one to pick and choose where I show skin – as in, if I’m showing lots of leg, I’ll likely wear a high neckline, etc. It’s fun to accentuate certain body parts, while still keepin’ it classy.

Hello, lovely summer weather…which means fabulous summer style! As we hit high temperatures here in Austin, I’m gravitating towards fringe anything (is this bag not tuhh-die?), off the shoulder tops and easy breezy relaxed-fit jeans. I ventured over to Cenote Coffeehouse for a fun little coffee talk / blog shoot sesh. You know me….if there’s coffee, I’m there…and a happy camper! 😉

“Love Is…” Illustration Art Series

Another favorite website of mine is Twisted Sifter – amazing photography/art and just all around interesting content updated regularly. This morning they featured a South Korean artist named Puuung who has a series called “Love is…” where he beautifully and so perfectly captures what real life love looks like and illustrates it on paper. As I started looking over his work, my heart pretty much sank in a mushy-lovey-dovey kind of way because I can see Blake and I in each of these illustrations. It’s funny, the regular mundane moments in life are often the sweetest and most cherished.

Puuung says, ““Love is something that everybody can relate to. And ‘Love’ comes in ways that we can easily overlook in our daily lives. So, I try to find the meaning of love in our daily lives and make it into artworks.”

I thought I’d share a few of my favorite moments he illustrates so wonderfully. Perhaps it will bring up the same memories/feelings for you, too. Enjoy!

Yellow Pom Pom Shorts

Perhaps the best news to hit your Monday is…drumroll…these adorable, lace pom pom shorts are back in stock! I saw these at Target on my lunch break a couple weeks back and couldn’t resist a pair of precious yellow shorts, just in time for summer! Sadly, they sold out everywhere just days after I’d picked up a pair of my own.

I went shopping for jeans a few months back and bought a pair of Lucky Brand jeans for over $100, then stopped into Forever21 to scope out their selection and I found these in all of their under-$10-glory. Bargain shopping FTW.

I recently updated my Facebook cover photo to better reflect the spring/summer seasons…and as I was pulling images from my blog, I noticed there’s a certain pattern I seem to wear a lot of..stripes! Open Mind Open Heart: Looking for Adam

I saw this story pop up on my Feedly page while at work and had to watch the video….let me tell ya, shedding a few tears discretely at my desk just feels like the norm these days ha! I am SUCH a sucker for heartfelt anything, so even so much as a sweet photo can have me tearing up! It’s okay though, my department is seven girls…so they know this about me by now. 😉

Back to the point of this post though (the video below) – it’s about a son who secretly creates a video over the span of a year showcasing all of the amazing aspects of his mom in hopes she may consider getting back on the dating scene again. At the end of the video, he films himself revealing the video to his mom and her reaction when he asks if he can share this video with the world, in hopes that someone will come forward as the Adam to her Eva (her name is Eva). Her son is SO sweet and really captures her beautiful spirit and personality so perfectly, in a very genuine way and you can just feel the love he has for her. Prepare for a some happy tears, y’all.

Ps. I know Mother’s Day has passed….but we should always celebrate and appreciate our mommas! Thus, this video is right on time! 😉
