Free People Embroidered Trapeze Dress

If you’re on the hunt for the perfect boho dress, this one may just have your name written all over it! The very appropriately named “Austin” Free People trapeze dress comes in numerous colors, but I couldn’t help but gravitate towards the incredible blood orange color of this one. Two things I must share about this dress, 1. you feel absolutely beautiful in it (it is incredibly flattering and comfortable!) and 2. it has pockets (wahooo!). Not to mention a few other tid-bits like the cute cut-out back and feminine neckline. Truth be told, I may just have to scoop up a few more colors I liked this look so much.

I paired the dress with a Kendra Scott arrowhead necklace (so versatile…if you haven’t noticed I wear this thing a lot!), my rust colored fedora and brown leather wedge sandals (they’re only $24!). The dress is so wonderful on its own that it doesn’t take too much accessorizing to stand out, my kinda piece – simple but fabulous! 😉

Trendy Boho Summer Style

Most excellent news! Well, two things really. First, my brother Jacob and his family just moved back to Austin…(Hoorah! We certainly missed them!). Two, he is a very talented photographer (it’s actually his day job, he’s a wedding photographer with his wife, Ary, pretty darn cute!) and he shot this entire look. As you know, I am very proud of my family and adore them so much (can you tell yet? Ha!), and I was so excited he could take a break from his busy schedule to do a fun little fashion shoot for me. 🙂 Anyhoo, just so you know my big ‘ol cheesy grins in the pictures above are real…he’s a total goofball!

Colorful Printed Boho Dress

THIS dress! Ah, I am in loooove! I spotted this dress on the adorable Jess Lea Boutique website and knew it would be a summer hit in my wardrobe repertoire. I paired it with my favorite mule wedges to give the look a little more sass – but imagine this dress at a music festival and nix the heels for a pair of gladiator sandals…SO perfect! Such a versatile piece and I love the tribal print and vibrant colors. Definitely a showstopper! (And it leaves plenty of eat/drink/be merry room since it’s not cinched at the waist 😉 – YAY!).

Neutral + Lace Shift Dresses

When it comes to my wardrobe, I am all about pieces I can wear over and over again. A nudie, lacy shift dress is one item that can be worn in a casual or more formal way – not to mention the neutral dress acts as a blank canvas to colorful accessories that make changing the look of the dress simple and easy. I should also tell you that shift dresses are one of my very favorite styles because they leave you plenty of breathe room (…or room to finish off that Chipotle burrito…hoorah!) and are modest on top yet show a flash of those sun-kissed legs.As you learned from my Eileen Fisher post a couple months back, I am definitely one to pick and choose where I show skin – as in, if I’m showing lots of leg, I’ll likely wear a high neckline, etc. It’s fun to accentuate certain body parts, while still keepin’ it classy.

Hello, lovely summer weather…which means fabulous summer style! As we hit high temperatures here in Austin, I’m gravitating towards fringe anything (is this bag not tuhh-die?), off the shoulder tops and easy breezy relaxed-fit jeans. I ventured over to Cenote Coffeehouse for a fun little coffee talk / blog shoot sesh. You know me….if there’s coffee, I’m there…and a happy camper! 😉

Yellow Pom Pom Shorts

Perhaps the best news to hit your Monday is…drumroll…these adorable, lace pom pom shorts are back in stock! I saw these at Target on my lunch break a couple weeks back and couldn’t resist a pair of precious yellow shorts, just in time for summer! Sadly, they sold out everywhere just days after I’d picked up a pair of my own.

First off….these jeans are JUST $7! Trust me, they are awesome – I wear mine all the time! (No really, just ask my co-workers ha!). I went shopping for jeans a few months back and bought a pair of Lucky Brand jeans for over $100, then stopped into Forever21 to scope out their selection and I found these in all of their under-$10-glory. Bargain shopping FTW.
