Levi’s High Rise Denim Shorts
I’ve had quite a few requests to style a pair of high rise shorts here on LL, so today I’m excited to finally give y’all a little OOTD inspiration! You can’t go wrong rocking a pair of classic Levi’s, and these high waist shorts are cute, comfy and can be worn a million different ways…
Stripes? Check. Coolgirl belt? Check. (…That’s how I refer to this style of belt…basically every girl at Coachella had this thing on, ha!). Bandana neckerchief? Check. Mom shorts rocked in a non-mom way? Check! It’s true that high rise denim has a “mom jeans” reputation, but these days it’s my go-to way to wear a casual outfit that’s breezy and also gives me a “shape” (that cinching at the waist tho!). Austin temperatures are pretty much nutso at the moment (ya know, that whole “put on face of makeup only to have it melt off immediately upon sitting in the car” type of thing), so shorts have been on repeat in my summer wardrobe.
These cute shorts are by Levi’s and I LOVE the fit! They’re a great length and not too tight around my waist. They fit true to size for reference. The best part about Levi’s is that they are SO affordable! I’m all for a good investment piece when it comes to shorts, but walking away with a killer pair for under $70 just feels like a total score.
I love the idea of pairing a denim jacket with denim shorts, and the mix of black with the blue is relaxed, effortless and also practical for a little warmth during those cooler evenings. You could make this look even more casual by swapping the flats for sneakers, but I am super into the flats + shorts look right now. My shoes are by Everlane and they are GORGEOUS! If you’re looking for a classic pair of black pointed-toe flats, these are super chic and beautiful quality.
