Galpal Coffee Date

If there’s one thing I love about the holidays, it’s that I get to spend more time with my out-of-town friends! It has sort of become one of those unexpected holiday traditions I look forward to each year. (When you’re younger, you don’t exactly look ahead and think half of your friend crew will move away one day!). Thus, this particular time of year is dear to my heart given that we get to spend some quality time together! One of my very best friends, Lauren of Vandi Fair, came into town last week with our fellow galpal and photographer, Angie, so we all met for a coffee & pastry date at the darling Elizabeth Street Cafe. I’d been dying to go here for quite some time, and after picking out some cozy sweaters in the prettiest pink hues from Express, we knew a powder pink and teal coffeehouse was the perfect spot for a catchup sesh…and of course some photo opps while we were at it! 😉

Last weekend one of my very best friends and fellow blogger Lauren of Vandi Fair came for a visit to Austin! Anyone else so excited we’re thaaat much closer to it “officially” being summer? (Even though it’s already in the 90’s in Austin…eek!) – I certainly am!

Poolside Summer

It’s always fun to grab your friends and collaborate on a fun & creative project – and that’s just what we did! We thought it would be a great idea to do a little poolside style shoot with myself and good friend Lauren of Vandi Fair. As we’re well aware of, it stays hot in Austin for a long time, so while other states are celebrating the arrival of fall fashion, we are most definitely still in short-shorts mode. I love that each of us has our own vision and passion – Lauren and I love styling, while Kayla is a killer photographer. The best thing about these shoots is that the ideas are often hit & miss, so it’s a lot of fun to just be vulnerable and go with the flow (and maaaybe feel a little outside my comfort zone…bikini pics?!). These types of projects really build our creativity and make for such fun experiences.
