If there is one brand that does blouses right, it is most certainly Sézane. In fact, the row of beloved blouses in my closet are nearly all by Sézane! Remember this one and this one? Years later and I still gravitate towards a beautifully textured white blouse – such a classic. Bonus points because you can wear it to elevate denim shorts or jeans…my favorite. 😉

Austin has officially hit summer temperatures (apparently we’ll get up to 100 degrees within the week, ah!), which means I have neatly tucked away my jeans and traded them for shorts of all styles…cutoffs, high rise, boyfriend and my current favorite: tie front. Insert the praise hands emoji here because these things are SO comfortable and flattering! (…And breezy…which is something to note because when pretty much anything you put on sticks to you in this heat, finding shorts that don’t is a REALLY big deal, ha).

Hello friends & happy Monday! It’s been a few weeks since I’ve written a blog post in the comfort of my own home, sipping coffee on my sofa with music going on the record player…and man, it feels SO good! I forgot how much I love being at home…I tend to go stir crazy and often am super pumped to get out of the house (since I work from home)…but after being gone on and off for over a month, I could not be more content to be back! Blake and I have some fun home renovation projects in the works (…can’t wait to share more with y’all VERY soon, eek!), so in the midst of combatting jetlag, spending time with friends/family and doing mountains of laundry (a 16-day trip = holy crap, so much laundry…ah!), we’ve been wearing our hardhats as we get to work on a special project. (Stay tuned on my Instagram, sharing the news this week!).
Now that we’ve got a brief life update out of the way…! 😉 I’m super excited to share today’s summery look, featuring one of my favorite color combinations: yellow and cognac – such a complimentary duo! Yes. You read correctly…I said SKORT! As in, the shorts + skirt hybrid that was the “it” thing to wear in the 90s. At first I was hesitant…but then I tried this cutie on and BAM not only was the fit amazing, it gave me some serious pep in my step! You get the feminine vibe of a skirt, mixed perfectly with the carefree feel of shorts – and that, my friends, is a definite win in my book! Bend, snap, skip, jump…you name it, this outfit lets you (and kind of encourages you) to do it all.

Ohh the dreaded Tuesday following a holiday weekend…I am absolutely feeling that dark cloud looming over my head! I am on my second coffee of the day, been jamming new Miley quite loudly (…perks of a house, no one bangs on the wall for me to shut up haha!) and am desperately trying to shake this wonky feeling that won’t seem to go away. I’ve got an inbox filled with to-do’s (…maybe if I don’t open them, they’ll just disappear…isn’t that how it works? 😉 ), a sink filled with dishes and lots of content to prep (hooray June posts – I’ve got some fun stuff in the works! …Just need to get to it, ah!). Alas, I reach for my laptop, close out my emails and get started in writing this blog post…my therapy!

Happy Monday, friends! Phewwww WHAT a week last week was, ha! Let’s just say I probably napped for like 30 hours straight this weekend. Needless to say, I had a total blast at the festival moseying from event to event with my bestie, Elissa (my extremely hilarious, adorable blondie babe in all my Insta Stories last week – we’ve been bff’s since high school!), and it all started with the CLIF Bar Bash hosted at Blackheart on Rainey Street…and it couldn’t have been a better start to the week!
