If you’re on the hunt for the perfect boho dress, this one may just have your name written all over it! The very appropriately named “Austin” Free People trapeze dress comes in numerous colors, but I couldn’t help but gravitate towards the incredible blood orange color of this one. Two things I must share about this dress, 1. you feel absolutely beautiful in it (it is incredibly flattering and comfortable!) and 2. it has pockets (wahooo!). Not to mention a few other tid-bits like the cute cut-out back and feminine neckline. Truth be told, I may just have to scoop up a few more colors I liked this look so much.
I paired the dress with a Kendra Scott arrowhead necklace (so versatile…if you haven’t noticed I wear this thing a lot!), my rust colored fedora and brown leather wedge sandals (they’re only $24!). The dress is so wonderful on its own that it doesn’t take too much accessorizing to stand out, my kinda piece – simple but fabulous! 😉

As warmer temperatures and festival season head our way, I’ll happily swap my long sleeve tee for a flowy crop top any day! And as we inch closer to the Free People SXSW party this Friday, I wanted to share another fun look featuring this Free People Swing Cami in Sandstone that will be available at the party pop-up shop. First off, how lovely is this color? It’s such a beautiful nearly-neutral shade that could go with everything…even your go-to jean shorts (hello, comfort!). Second, the shoulder ties are adjustable, so you tie it to fit how you want – whether a little looser to show a strappy bralette peeking through, or a little tighter as I did. I also love the tassel details on the ties, they just add that special touch to top off an already oh-so-perfect cami.
I threw my hair in a topknot and accessorized with Joy Dravecky jewelry – my shorter necklace and those incredible earrings. I am completely enamored with her collection, and these pieces in particular – that pop of color from the earrings really compliments the earthy tones from my outfit. As I’ve mentioned before, I am a sucker for quality jewelry and this designer is everything.
My longer necklace is Kendra Scott and the watch is another oldie but a goodie, so I linked to a similar style watch below. As for the shoes? Hand-me-downs from my sister…she was kind enough to give those pretties up! I linked to another similar pair below, too.

Hello there! I’m so excited to finally share a fun collaboration I’ve been working on with Free People! FP Festival Days (aka a super awesome shindig that will make all of your magical boho dreams come to life) is headed to Austin for SXSW Music and I couldn’t be more pumped to build some buzz around this fab event. The party will feature hair braiding, a Polaroid photo booth and refreshments by Austin Beerworks (yes, the good stuff!)…Oh right, and TONS of live music, of course! So grab your besties, add a FP wristband to your bracelet stack and kick back to some quality tunes and a super fun atmosphere. Between work, life & SXSW festivities, I managed to sneak away with the oh-so-talented Kayla Snell Photography and shoot a fun festival-inspired look featuring this amazing FP floral slip-dress (psst, you can snag this piece at the pop-up shop during the party). We’ve recently been graced with ultimate festival weather here in ATX, (sunny, breezy, bliss) so rocking a light-weight, free flowing dress is stroll-around-town, dance-all-day perfection. I paired the look with brown booties, my staple go-to, plaid flannel button down and silver jewelry (I raided my mom’s collection for this shoot, her jewelry closet is incredible! That necklace? I die!).
I’m a big fan of unique details when it comes to clothing, and I completely adore the lace up, open back component to this slip-dress. I felt so feminine and pretty wearing it, not to mention swapping bandeau tops out can easily change the look. Free People takes the cake when it comes to fabulous bralettes and strappy bandeaus, so definitely check out their selection if you’re wearing anything oversized or on the “flow-ier” side this festival season.

It’s carried at quite a few stores but I recently discovered that Macy’s has marked it down to the lowest price yet. Okay for starters, how amazing is this mustard yellow Free People dress?! Trust me, I about fell in love with this thing. SO pretty…and feminine…and lovely…and every other girly adjective that all sums up to dress perfection! Last night I met up with my good friend and beautiful photographer Corbin Chase. Corbin and I have known each other since high school days (rival high schools in Austin, united by our love for theatre and makeshift photo shoots back then…!). Since our days as experimental teens, we’ve both followed our love for fashion. He moved to New York City and works in the fashion scene, all the while snapping pictures of passerbyers that really tell stories of the youth of Brooklyn and NYC. (Take a look at his website here).
Needless to say, when he came into town for a few days, we had to reconvene and not only catch up, but collaborate on a fun little shoot! I sent him a picture of the dress, and from there we set the scene! I love the vintage feel of these photos, but it’s truly the mustard and muted color combinations in the dress that add such an old school vibe. I added a fringe statement necklace and wedge sandals (can you tell I am obsessed with wedges yet?), and topped off my look with a swipe of red lipstick and red nails to bring out that sweet, classic feel.
Oh yes, and that Louis Vuitton luggage? Hey, a girl can dream! It’s his mom’s vintage suitcase. AMAZING! She let us play in her closet before we went out for the shoot. Oooh, too much fun!
Alrighty, for the last time, this. dress. is. everything! My boyfriend (who only saw it on the hanger) said it looked too “granny” for him. Well, my darling, I beg to differ! Wait until he see’s this post! 😉 Romantic date night soon in this charming, floral dress? I think yes!

Last week my brother, Noah, and I had a blast shooting with local (and brilliant) photographer Laura Morsman. She asked me to do an Austin City Limits Music Festival styling shoot + interview for her blog (see the post here), and I grabbed my brother to join me! He’s been an Austin musician for over a decade, traveling about the country from time to time and based in Austin. He brought his guitar, Laura brought her banjo and I brought numerous outfit options! 😉
Since festival style is everywhere these days, my options were endless! But when I think of true festival style, Free People is the brand that comes to mind. They’ve always nailed that ethereal, wanderlust-y vibe that just seems to align perfectly with the feel of a music festival. I chose this ri-dic-u-lous (yes, I’m obsessed) low-cut, short floral dress with my go-to riding boots (mine are oldies but goodies, you can find a really cool & similar pair here). I also had the pleasure of wearing my mom’s amaaazing native american jewelry. Every time I open her jewelry closet, I find more and more little treasures! That necklace was an anniversary gift from my dad, the rings are from her teenage days. Pretty stunning stuff! Oh, and of course I wore myToms sunnies… all day everyday with those things!
Obviously Free People just gets it when it comes to festival style, but capturing that free-spirit vibe is quite a talent, andLaura is a PRO! Truth be told, she made me feel so comfortable during the shoot that I never felt terribly pose-y or staged, and it’s so beautiful the way she captures moments as we wander about the scene and interact naturally. She was simply lovely in every way – positive, creative, encouraging, humble and clearly a hands-down, talented photographer!
After this look, I swapped out the dress for another – but I’ll share that post a little later on!
I hope this post gets you excited for ACL fest and all the weekend wardrobe possibilities it brings! Of course it’s about the music, but obviously I’d be lying if the “what-to-wear” part wasn’t already on the brain! 😉
