My Favorite Body-Con Dress

livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-austin-texas-fashion-style-blogger-bohemian-maternity-dress-cute-pregnancy-outfit-idea-5livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-austin-texas-fashion-style-blogger-bohemian-maternity-dress-cute-pregnancy-outfit-idea-3Oh ya know, just strutting in the middle of a parking lot to show y’all an outfit…typical day in the life over here! 😉 Since becoming pregnant, I feel like I have really expanded my blue jean horizons and even stepped out of my style comfort zone…insert: A DRESS. I don’t really know why, but over time I basically just stopped wearing dresses…even though they’re comfortable and make me feel great! I think I’d forgotten just how nice it is not to wear pants…ha! Anyhoo…this body-con dress is non-maternity and I’ve scooped it up in three colors already. It’s flattering, extremely comfy and something you can wear before, during and after pregnancy (…and lemme tell ya, those pieces are hard to come by and become wardrobe life savers!!).

Brahmin Sonny Crossbody Handbag

livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-austin-texas-fashion-blogger-striped-midi-dress-green-utility-jacket-brahmin-sonny-crossbody-handbag-prada-cat-eye-sunglasses-casual-outfit-4Ooh girls am I excited about today’s post! As y’all know, I’ve been a HUGE fangirl of Brahmin handbags for years now, so when they asked me to collaborate and feature my favorite bag from their new Southcoast collection, you better believe I did a happy dance at my desk and immediately called Blake right after that email came in – ha! ;). Hey, we all have things we obsess over and after falling in love with their handbags while working at Nordstrom in college…let’s just say my Brahmin obsession stuck around and has only grown stronger! (…Especially when they keep coming out with gorgeous new handbags that are totally my style, like the Sonny Crossbody Handbag in Tan Savannah).

Hey there! How is your weekend going? Mine has been an interesting one…! Blake is out of town so I’m flying solo for four days, and it has definitely been an adjustment for me, ha! I guess I didn’t realize that we literally do almost everything together…soooo, it’s been super weird to have so much alone time, I’m ready for him to come back…been missing him like crazy! Let’s just say I’ll most definitely be counting down the hours until I scoop him up from the airport tomorrow morning! With more time I’ve been able to knock out wedding planning to-do’s with my mom and visit with girlfriends I don’t see as often as I’d like, so that part has been really nice. However, I’m super ready to have my other half back! True story: I stayed at my parents house on Friday night and went grocery shopping at 11pm last night…clearly I don’t know what the heck to do with myself while he’s away ha!

Printed Dress & Blush Jacket

livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-austin-texas-fashion-blogger-razorback-shift-dress-paisley-printed-hammitt-la-vip-clutch-blush-draped-front-jacket-blazer-6…Of course I post this juuuust as the weather drops a bit in Austin! Ha, typical..! 😉 I guess that draped front jacket will come in handy again…however, I may swap the breezy shift dress for jeans until the heat comes back (…it’s been VERY windy in Austin…trust me, makes for quite an interesting public photo session haha! Which mostly consists of me leaning up closely against the wall and trying my hardest to keep my dress from flying up from all angles, half mortified and half genuinely terrified the wind will win that battle…I gotta say, Marilyn made that moment look pretty darn graceful, ha! Those outtakes will just stay in my trash folder…that’s for sure.. 😉 ).

Now that I’ve spilled my guts about the awkward woes of snapping photos in public (ha! That is a true struggle of mine, quite a weird and vulnerable thing to do!), we can move on to this look..(the good stuff, right? 😉 ). My dress is a razorback shift dress that has a zipper down the back (as you can see in the 4th photo in this post) and a fabulous paisley print and some intricate stitching along the bustline. This thing is TOO cute and so perfect to take you from spring (when paired with a jacket) all the way to summer (literally just nix the jacket..okay and maybe add a tan…and perhaps a topknot if we’re talkin’ Texas heat 😉 and voila, golden for summer! This dress is super affordable and I’m wearing a size small for reference. I’m a big fan of Sun & Shadow products, too, LOVE this brand and buy a lot of their pieces! Great fit, quality and an amazing price point.

Floral Print Halter Midi Dress

livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-austin-texas-fashion-blogger-astr-pink-floral-cutout-halter-sweetheart-maxi-dress-brahmin-duxbury-handbag-cava-6Hello there! How’s your week going? We are SO CLOSE to Friday…this week just seemed to zoom on by! (No complaints here, I have been anticipating a lazy Saturday since Monday..ha! 😉 ). Things have been crazy busy in my world this week – busy but good. 🙂 I am helping my sister get her Etsy store together at the moment, so that’s been a fun and different addition to my usual {hot mess of a} routine. She is a painter and beautiful artist, so we’ve been working to get some of her gorgeous prints up online so I can share her work with all of you! I’ve been such a big fan of her artwork (seriously…she is truly gifted..if you were to give me a pen and paper and ask me to draw anything, you’d quickly question how we’re related ha! Let’s just say I didn’t get that talent – like, at all!!). At the moment, all of the artwork you see in my photos (mainly Instagram) is by her – Blake and I joke that our apartment is basically a shrine to Kimberlee – ha!! Fine by me when it looks that good! I’ll tell you more about that later, super excited to share a big reveal post on my blog once we get everything set up on her Etsy store! Stay tuned for that. 🙂

20 Trendy Shoes For Spring

Hi there, ladies – hope you had a great weekend! The past couple of days were jam packed (but very good!) on my end…! I had a big event in Dallas (a day of activities and brunch sponsored by Who What Wear, Palm Breeze and My Domaine) that I co-hosted with Ashley from Sugar and Cloth yesterday…Y’all…she is SO fabulous!! It was so refreshing to meet such a down to earth and humble – and very successful – blogger (honestly, that’s a rarity these days it seems – thus, it was seriously wonderful and made the day extremely enjoyable and a lot of fun). Her boyfriend Jeremy is her photographer and equally as nice and funny, that duo is crazy talented and just overall a really cool couple. We all just hit it off upon meeting, it was so much fun! My mom made the drive from Austin to Dallas with me (aren’t mom’s the best? Always so thoughtful!!) and we left at 5am to get to the event with enough time for me to spend about 20 minutes in a gas station restroom (hey, gotta work with what you can while road tripping!) on the way there to do my hair/makeup – ha! Always keepin’ it classy over here! 😉 We showed up with a few minutes to spare and then everything just fell into place and worked out beautifully for the event, it was a lovely time and I am so grateful to have met everyone who came out for the day to enjoy it! Right after we wrapped up, my mom and I were back on the road to Austin…seriously, she is a GEM for being so involved in my blogging life (…and volunteering to wake up at 4am just to drive with me…), I adore her like crazy and appreciate her company so much!

Strappy Back Shift Dress – The Ultimate LBD

livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-austin-texas-fashion-blogger-topshop-black-strappy-back-shift-dress-toms-majorca-black-suede-booties-brahmin-mini-duxbury-4True story: it was a torrential downpour when I shot this look…Can you tell?! Ohh that hair is a hawwwt mess! (There’s the Texas accent comin’ in strong with that one.. 😉 ). Last weekend I went to brunch with Veronica (one of my bestie’s who also happens to agree to take my blog photos and I appreciate and love her for it!!!) and after a lovely little coffee/mimosa/stuff-ourselves-silly date on the cutest patio at Hillside Farmacy, we decided to quickly snap some photos while we were out! But alas, midway through this “shoot,” it started crazy storming. Thus, we sat in Veronica’s car (she just got a super awesome Jeep that is about 3x the size of my ‘ol Versa & it has a moonroof (..sold!), so it’s always the obvious pick when deciding who’s car to drive!) to stay dry for a bit and watch the radar, then as soon as it cleared up for 30 seconds, we’d run out and go at it again, ha! Anyhoo, this is basically the outcome of a cute outfit combined with excessive rain and humidity…!

My weekend was pretty jam packed (what’s new?!) but Blake and I stepped away from the SXSW madness to do some home decor shopping on Saturday afternoon and OMG the apartment looks so beautiful and clean! Can’t wait to show y’all my new home office area (…it was time for a refresh in our abode) and a few other tidbits we picked up (very thankful for our last minute run through Home Goods!). Anyways, I’ll be posted a full blog about everything later, excited to share some photos!

Denim Shirtdress with Silver Jeans

livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-silver-jeans-co-denim-shirtdress-shirt-dress-drawstring-summer-spring-booties-errisson-lawrence-photography-beach-outfit-8I hope your week is going well and if you’re in Austin, that you’re staying nice and dry – we had some serious rain these past few days! Last night the thunder was so loud that I actually woke up and scooted closer to Blake, ha! …Felt like I was a kid again in need of protection. So funny now that I’m not half asleep and can think clearly about it. Aside from me acting like a big baby during the storm (lolz), I wanted to update you all on the pre-SXSW panel I spoke in on Monday night…the good news? I survived public speaking! 😉

Go-To Denim for Spring with Nordstrom

livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-austin-texas-fashion-blogger-boho-kut-from-the-kloth-skinny-jeans-nordstrom-madewell-slip-on-flats-free-people-tula-off-shoulder-top-5Hello there & happy Monday! Okay, first things first – these jeans are UNDER $95! (Because really, that’s something to hit the caps lock button for 😉 )…and two, I am thrilled to partner with Nordstrom (one of my favorite retailers, as y’all know!) to feature a denim staple for spring – these killer skinny jeans by KUT from the Kloth. Not only is this particular denim line budget friendly, but clearly super ADORABLE (yes, worthy of all caps again…), flattering and above all – comfy! If you’re like me and tend to wear the same pair of jeans over and over (…and over and over 😉 seriously, I’m pretty sure I find a pair I love and then swap my tops for weeks on end, ha!) then I highly recommend scoping out the KUT from the Kloth line at Nordstrom – you can check out the other cute styles here.
