The Best Button-Up Top

Hey ladies! How’s your weekend going? We just got back home from our quick trip to El Paso and we are excited to spend the rest of the long weekend relaxing at home. My bestie Elissa is headed over to the house tonight for some vino, always the best when she’s in town! (She’s a flight attendant, so it’s a treat when she texts me that she’s back in Austin…even if just for 24 hours, ha!).

We’ve still got 20 official days left of summer, but I know this Texas heat will stick around for a while after that! Thus, a relaxed yet polished button up top, rolled cutoff shorts and my fave fedora hat is a killer combo to beat the heat and look pretty darn adorable at the same time. Also…can you tell my current accessory of choice is an iced coffee? Every time we go and snap outfit photos it’s my reward for mustering some big ‘ol cheesy smiles amidst the Austin heat, ha!

My top is by Madewell and it’s my very favorite short sleeve button up! It’s casual but definitely adds a “put together” vibe to an outfit. I also have it in white and chambray, I wear an XS for reference. Whether I wear it with jeans and flats or shorts and sandals, it’s a total wardrobe win. Wear it with cutoff shorts now, then pair with skinny jeans, ankle booties and your favorite jacket (a leather jacket or utility jacket would be extra cute) once fall weather finally makes an appearance!

My shorts are by One Teaspoon and they fit TTS. I’ve had this same pair for two years now and invested in a regular denim pair earlier this summer – I’m obsessed with the fit! They’re ultra relaxed and the perfect weekend shorts, and also SO good for the beach! Highly recommend this brand, I’ve been a big fan for a while now.
