Boyfriend Jeans

Hi there ladies! How is your week going? Hopefully it’s off to a great start! Blake is finally home (hooraaaay!) so after I picked him up from the airport this morning we went and grabbed breakfast tacos and cuddled up on the couch for a bit… aka, my happy place! Gah, I missed him like crazy, so glad he’s home!! Already have a feeling this week is going to be a good one (and him being around definitely helps, ha!).

In other news, I am so excited to partner with Nordstrom today and spotlight one of my favorite brands they carry: Caslon! As y’all know, I worked at Nordstrom all throughout college (winter/summer breaks) and even after I graduated (hey, it’s tough to find a job in journalism in this city, ha!), so I am very familiar with the brands they carry and jumped at the opportunity to feature a few Caslon items! Nordstrom is one of my very favorite retailers because they carry such an array of items to fit any body type and any budget…Nords is pretty much my go-to for clothes, shoes, handbags…you name it, I am happily walking out of the mall with that little silver bag any chance I get! 😉

The weather in Austin has officially hit blue skies and warmer temperatures, so I’ve been gravitating towards ultra casual, comfortable and breezy looks lately (…then again, that’s pretty much daily uniform as it is! 😉 ). I am in L O V E with these crazy adorable boyfriend jeans (and y’all, these are just $74, that’s a steal!) and they also come in a dark wash, I just went for the lighter wash because it felt warm weather appropriate to me, but both washes are super cute. I recommend ordering a size down in these, they have that looser, oversize fit (true to the meaning of “boyfriend jeans” ) so I opted for a smaller size. (I normally wear a 25 but got a 24 in these). Ps. These jeans would be SO CUTE with a cozy v-neck tee and slip-on Vans, too. Love how versatile they are! (…yet keep you comfortable no matter what top/shoes you wear!).

I paired the adorable jeans with the prettiest ruffle trim top (which is nearly sold out but comes in a really lovely coral color, too). This is such a classic top that would be just as cute with cutoff shorts for summer, or layered under a light utility jacket (like this one) if it’s still not quite warm enough to wear in your city. (I also wear a utility jacket during the cooler evenings in Austin, you can never go wrong investing on of these!). I am wearing a size small in the top for reference and it fits perfectly – it’s nice and airy with feminine details (the ruffle trim + the pretty eyelet front).

I accessorized with THE cutest frayed woven straw tote (how cute are those pom-poms?!) which would also make for the cutest beach bag, too! I wore my go-to espadrille wedges to add a little height and spice up this casual look – these also come in 4 other color options and they’re so comfy!! Highly recommend…I’ve worn mine a TON since buying them a few months ago! Finally, I topped off the look with my favorite tortoise shell cat-eye sunnies and the prettiest chalcedony stone tassel necklace (I wear this thing ALL the time!).
