Hello there! Me oh my I am SO excited to finally share this much-anticipated post with y’all! MamaWat (which is what my friends call my mother – short for “Mama Watson” or rather, Kim Watson) joined me for a coffee date at Jo’s on South Congress Avenue in Austin for a Mother’s Day collaboration with New York & Company (…aren’t our outfits adorable?!). Seriously, I LOVED having my mom by my side for this collab, I love her so much…it’s kind of ridiculous, really! We made this post a family affair and my sister snapped these photos – special shoutout to Kimberlee for being an amazing photographer and capturing such wonderful moments for this post!

I am so lucky that my mom lives roughly 10 minutes from my apartment (…that may or may not have been on purpose, ha!) because as I get older, I realize more and more how lucky I am to be so close to her and really know she’s one of my best friends and someone who will always be there for me. I say this all the time, but there really is no one quite like a mom – they provide a sense of comfort that no one else can compare to – and after raising 5 kids of her own, I’d say my mom is an absolute expert at making us feel so loved and taken care of, I really do believe it was her calling to create such a loving and beautiful family. (All 5 of us still reside in Austin…so if that doesn’t tell you something about the family love we have and that my parents instilled in us, then I don’t know what does, ha!).

I truly mean it when I say my mom has a heart of pure gold – she is the most giving, selfless, kind and sweet woman I’ve ever met. She loves deeply and has the most gentle soul – I learn something from her daily. She is a total goof in the best way (seriously, she can be so silly!) and makes me crack up ALL the time (…the laughing photos in this post are genuine!). I’d say my mom’s actions this week really solidify the beautiful person she is inside and out: between helping me with wedding planning, making time to shoot this, watching her grandkids (she has 6!), attending my older brother’s surgery (4am wake-up call and a 6 hour surgery) and staying with him for 4 days to help get him back to good health – it goes without saying that she is 100% Superwoman. These photos make my heart so full and happy because my mom is my role model in life – I am SO fortunate to have her and I appreciate her love and kindness endlessly.

I should also mention my mom is a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines – for 35 years! I have some photos of her when she first started and she’s my age in the classic hot pants and white go-go boots…those photos are pure MAGIC. She is such a babe – and still is! I love any chance I get to brag on her for this because she’s so darn modest – she’s a wonderful person and crazy gorgeous!!

My mom has always been into fashion and introduced me to that world at a young age when she would bring a suitcase full of the latest fashion magazines home with her after a work trip. She has taught me to stay true to my personal style and wear what I feel good in – that it’s not about labels, it’s about wearing pieces that flatter your figure and make you feel like your best self. She grew up in Houston, TX and used to surf at the beach in Galveston, so it’s safe to say that relaxed, casual vibe I so often gravitate towards, I definitely got from her!

When it comes to New York & Company, there are SO many laid back, beautiful options to choose from that we immediately fell for. Funny enough, I feel like we could totally swap our outfits and both feel just as good as before, ha! I opted for a navy off-shoulder romper (with pockets, my fave 😉 ) and my mom picked out the cutest off-shoulder printed dress. Let me tell ya, New York & Company prices are INCREDIBLE (yes, all caps moment here..!) because these items are amazing quality and SO stinkin’ adorable! Both of our looks: clothing, shoes, handbags – are all by NY & Co. You can shop them at the end of this post!

Grabbing coffee and posing with the famous “I Love You So Much” graffiti wall just seemed oh-so-perfect for us. livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-mother-daughter-mothers-day-shoot-austin-texas-happy-laughing-i-love-you-so-much-jo's-coffee-wall-new-york-and-company-9 livvyland-blog-olivia-watson-mother-daughter-mothers-day-shoot-austin-texas-happy-laughing-i-love-you-so-much-jo's-coffee-wall-new-york-and-company-2 ^^See? It breaks my heart to see friends who don’t get along with their parents because it’s such a special bond and such a gift to have your mom as your best friend. And you and your mama are both babes!
