Color Mixing: Cognac & Black

Good evening gals! I am super excited to partner up with FarFetch today on LL and style this adorable Tory Burch bag (that, as you can see, I am keeping extra close to me, ha! In LOVE with this pretty handbag!). If you follow me on Snapchat, you’ll know I totally geeked out when this handbag showed up on my doorstep…true story: after I signed for it at the door, I actually did a happy dance. Needless to say, Blake things I’m a nut – ha! 😉

If you haven’t checked out the abundance of gorgeous designer goods on FarFetch.com, then definitely grab yourself a glass of wine and enjoy perusing their website…seriously…the Tory Burch selection is pretty incredible. Ps. This is my first “Tory” item…needless to say I am a very happy girl when I wear this thing around town! This one is the “Britten Crossbody” handbag and it’s the perfect size for going out or hitting up a coffeehouse with a friend (…or with your pops, like I definitely did when we snapped these pics, ha. Coffee, a good outfit & father/daughter bonding time FTW! 😉 ).

Lately I am loving mixing black and cognac, hence the mix of tan leather loafers with the black handbag/jeans/cardigan. It’s a classic color combination that looks super chic yet approachable. I love the minimalistic vibe of the outfit – a basic striped tee (love this one, highly recommend), skinny jeans (these are amazing, under $75 – size up because they run snug!), slip-on loafers (size down in these gorgeous shoes, I ordered a 6 and normally wear a 7), black cardigan (super digging the fringe trim detail), a classic black handbag, leather strap watch (in cognac to pick up the same color in the shoes and complete the color mixing) and finally, black cat-eye sunglasses. Viola, chic and casual perfection!

As I’ve mentioned in previous blog posts, I am working hard to create looks and invest in pieces that are timeless and classic. Often when I pick out my outfits, I think to myself “Olivia, would your mom be proud of this outfit?” …and if she wouldn’t be, then I probably don’t want to wear it out! (Hey, that’s just me! Of course dress for YOU and not for your mom, but you get what I mean..!). I just think that “classy” is always in style and I like to keep that in mind when I get dressed in the morning. Just a good note to (my)self! 😉
