Timeless Print: Stripes

Happy Sunday, gals! I have been feeling under the weather this week and it finally hit me this morning – woke up with a stuffy nose and a sore throat…hoping I can relax and chill out enough to let myself get better! Luckily, Blake and I don’t have a major to-do list today (yay, more time for me to lounge around and do a little online shopping, ha!) 😉 Blake’s dad is an accountant, so we’re headed over to his house to do our taxes in the late afternoon (woo adulthood! *sarcasm). Will be nice to see his family though, we’re both super lucky that everyone lives in Austin!

Speaking of Austin, we’re in this weird weather transitional period… last week we went from being reaaaally cold early in the week, to gorgeous and sunny (basically shorts weather) this weekend. While half of the US is covered in snow, us Austinites are wearing tank tops and throwing a frisbee around at the park… Ohh Texas weather, always so crazy and unpredictable! However, these warm, sunny days really get me thinking about my spring wardrobe – and particularly staples that you can wear year after year…

Which brings me to…stripes! As y’all know, this is one of my very favorite prints. It truly is such a timeless, classic pattern that can be worn throughout every season. I am loving the pretty, whimsical striped pieces above – particularly the backless dress (so in love!), romper at the top left and that pretty off the shoulder top at the bottom middle. Makes me want to bask in the sun, get a little bronzed and wear on a vacation to the Mediterranean…haha, can you tell I’m honeymoon dreaming over here? (Btw we’re thinking Italy…so excited!!).

I am also into striped picks that make for perfect layering pieces during those colder days (although apparently unpredictable in this city!). The two tops on the right (top and middle) are SO cute and would go with just about anything! Layer a green utility jacket over each top and add a chunky knit scarf for winter, then once it warms up, throw on a pair of high waist cut off shorts and tuck in the top and throw on some tan loafers – viola, classy and adorable! Love these versatile picks.
