Plaid Poncho at Springdale Farm

Ohh Austin, how I love this city! There are hidden gems and activities all over this place, like the beautiful Springdale Farm. As you can see it’s a precious little farmhouse with stunning grounds filled with fresh vegetables (chicken coop not pictured, ha!) and the sweetest owners. One of my photographer friends had been wanting to shoot at Springdale Farm for a while, so finally we were able to make it happen! Every Wednesday and Saturday morning, the farm hosts a farmers market where you can shop for fresh veggies and fruits – super cool concept and just an overall wonderful atmosphere at the farm…sooo peaceful, relaxing and inviting – my kinda place!

^^Kayla asked me to stand next to the greens and take a photo…which obviously led to me feeling like a complete weirdo and laughing like a crazy person! Y’all…it’s not easy to be serious when taking a photo next to salad…

So what exactly would one wear to a farmers market? Given that Austin rarely reaches freezing temperatures and that yesterday it was actually quite warm out considering we’re now to December, I opted for some cozy layering. Y’all have seen me wear this plaid poncho on Instagram and my blog, and it’s definitely sticking around! It’s super comfy and I love the plaid + neutral color palette, it makes it super versatile and easy to re-wear over and over. I wore it over one of my favorite thermal long sleeve tee’s in olive green – loving this color for fall/winter! My jeans are by Topshop and they’re also something I wear all the time, such a great price point, too (just $65!).

As for accessories and shoes, I’m rocking my go-to Steve Madden booties (obsessed is an understatement!), Nashelle necklace, Toms sunglasses, Brahmin handbag and Daniel Wellington watch. Simple but just the right amount to complete the outfit! …Firm believer in accessories over here. 😉
